Dozens of rare objects mark 250 years of the Gothic tradition in the new exhibit at the British Library (St. Pancras location) in London called "Terror and Wonder: The Gothic Imagination." The exhibit touches on the enduring obsessions with the curious, dark, terrifying, deviant and the macabre.
From Mary Shelley to Alexander McQueen, the exhibit involves posters, books, film and even a vampire-slaying kit. The dark shadow of the Gothic imagination has cast its influence across western popular culture and into our daily lives. The exhibition, open now, extends until January 20, 2015.
