Emily Horowitz (Sociology & Criminal Justice @ St. Francis) will address the role played by academics/researchers/scholars in protest movements, and the particular role played by scholars in movements involving disenfranchised and powerless populations; she’s the author of Protecting Our Kids? How Sex Offender Laws Are Failing Us  (Praeger, 2015).
